Extension Lecture on “Understanding and Handling Harassment (POSH)”
An Extension Lecture on “Understanding and Handling Harassment (POSH)” was organized on 7th November 2025 at Government College, Sultanpur (Farrukhnagar), Gurugram under the guidance of Dr. Sunita Rani (Principal) and the supervision of Dr. Garima Yadav, under Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The resource person for the session was Dr. Jyotsana, Assistant Professor, Govt. College, Jatoli HailyMandi, who delivered an insightful lecture on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013. She explained in detail the meaning, forms, and psychological effects of harassment and discussed the legal rights available for protection under the Act. She also emphasized the importance of building a respectful and safe environment for both students and employees.
The session was interactive and engaging, where students actively participated and shared their views on workplace and institutional ethics.
Around 80 students from B.Com and B.A. classes attended the lecture and gained awareness about how to handle and report harassment responsibly.
Overall, the session proved to be very informative and helped students understand the significance of gender sensitivity and legal awareness in daily life.
The event was attended by all faculty members present time college.
